International Women’s Day – Friday 7th of March 2025

A Collaboration

Empowerment through connection
It is often said that if Karen Heap calls you after a holiday, get ready for an adventure! She will most likely have come up with some elaborate project and wants you to be involved in it…

Those who know Karen know that these projects are always brilliant and quite often designed to help others.

The Great Women in Business Meetup was one of these ideas. Although it was originally dreamed up long before, Karen approached the three other women in business involved with her idea in 2023.

The four networks quickly pulled together to create a fabulous event that connected women from across the Midlands in March 2024. The aim of the day was to empower professional women through collaboration.

This first Great Women in Business Meetup inspired so many women that it could not be a one-off event. Within 24 hours it was decided that we would be back in 2025 for another amazing day of connection! Our ongoing collaboration promises to bring more extraordinary events designed to inspire great women in business across the country.

This spirit of empowerment through connection brought these great networks together, a gift the Great Women in Business Meetup aims to give to all those who attend. It is a day to gain support and belonging, not just business.

Stronger Together

THE SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY

We are often asked why we have created this event together. As four leading women’s networks in the Midlands, we are often seen as competition.

However, the spirit of our event is what brought us together.

We believe that we are stronger together.
